Converse Eyeglasses
Converse was founded in 1908. Originally known as the Converse Rubber Shoe
Company, Converse was a rubber shoe manufacturer, providing winterized rubber
soled footwear for men, women, and children, producing four-thousand shoes a
day by 1910. The turning point for the company came in 1917 when the
Converse All-Star basketball shoe was introduced. Charles H. “Chuck” Taylor, a basketball
player, entered their offices in 1921 complaining of sore feet. The company hired him and he spent the rest
of his life tirelessly promoting his signature line of basketball shoes, making
them the most popular shoe in sports.
Today, Converse is world renowned for their athletic and
fashion accessories including tops, t-shirts, sweatshirts, socks, bags, pants,
shorts and eyewear.
Converse Eyeglasses take their inspiration from the urban
styles of the street. They are
manufactured with metal and semi-rimless frames in earth toned colors and
provide trendsetters from all walks of life an outlet for expression.
REM Eyewear is the licensed manufacturer for Converse
Eyeglasses.
Family owned-and-operated for over five decades, REM Eyewear
designs and markets eyewear in over 60 countries, including brands such as
Jones New York, Converse, Barbie, Rembrand, Plus+, Cosmopolitan, Esquire and
Lauren Hutton.
