Tag Heuer began as a watch making company founded by Edouard Heuer in 1860 and is a Swiss watchmaker famous for designing and manufacturing high-end sports watches and chronographs for both men and women.  Most of their watches are water resistant up to two-hundred meters or more.

In 1985 the company Tag Heuer was officially founded when TAG (Techniques d'Avant Garde), manufacturers of high-tech items such as ceramic turbochargers for Formula 1 cars acquired Heuer, which was already a renowned watchmaker specializing in racing chronographs.  Together they became one of the world's most famous watch making companies.

Today Tag Heuer is owned by the fashion magnate LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey.)
