Polaroid Sunglasses
Created in 1909 by Dr. Edwin Land, the world's first synthetic polarizing material designed for the consumer was the basis for world famous company, Polaroid. Polaroid is the name given for the polarizing plastic sheet that polarizes light.
Polaroid invented the first pair of polarized sunglasses in 1940, creating the market for eyewear that protects your eyes from harmful UV radiation. Polaroid is truly one of the most innovative companies in the sunglass market. Polaroid Sunglass lenses are manufactured using a polarizing sandwich method that employs a light filter in the center that is laminated on both sides with UV light absorbers. This filters out one-hundred percent of harmful UV, UVB and UVC radiation. The lens also has laminated optically corrected, shatter-resistant cushion elements and a scratch-resistant coating. Wearing Polaroid Sunglasses give you glare free vision, enhanced contrasts, significantly less eye fatigue and exceptional color perception in a fashionable, stylish package that will not only protect you from the elements, but keep your image fun and hip. Celebrities that have been seen wearing Polaroid Sunglasses include Keira Knightley, Jo-Jo, Natalie Portman, Emmy Rossum and Hilary Duff.
