Nike Eyewear

Nike, Inc., headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, is the world's foremost manufacturer of athletic shoes and apparel.

Nike was founded in 1971 by Phil Knight and William J. Bowerman, taking the company's name from the Greek goddess of victory, Nike.  Knight managed the business part of the company and Bowerman took care of designing improvements in athletic footwear.

Nike Eyeglasses are made with quality materials and come in a variety of forms.  The Nike Flexon frames are nearly impossible to twist out of shape, making them durable and fashionable at the same time.

Nike operates Niketown stores, Nike factory outlets and Mike Women shops, selling its products in about 160 countries.  Mark Parker succeeded Bill Perez, who resigned in 2006, as president and CEO.

Marchon is the licensed manufacturer of Nike Eyeglasses.

Co-founded by co-presidents and co-owners Al Berg, Larry Roth and Jeff White in 1983, Marchon Eyewear designs and distributes sunglasses and eyeglasses in more than 80 countries.  Marchon sells frames under its own name as well as licensed brands such as, Calvin Klein, Coach, Fendi, Nautica, Michael Kors, and NIKE, along with the patented Flexon metal memory frames.

I WISH the NIKE 4057 013 50 19 140 frame held up as well as all of the other Flexon frames I have bought over the years for myself, two teen age boys (now adults) my husband and my mother. My son has went through two of the frames referenced above. The bridge has a tendency to snap while cleaning the lenses. Poor design, material or quality I do not know. I do know that I have recycled our old Flexon frames by giving them to people we know who cannot afford to buy good frames and many of them are still wearing them. The NIKE frames I am complaining about, are beneath the Flexon reputation and standards in my opinion.

I agree 100% with the previous comment made by this woman. I too broke my frames when I was cleaning my glasess. This was only after 2 years and I only wear my glasses while sitting at my desk.

I've had my Nike Flexon 4057 50/19 eyeglasses for just over 2 years and last week, the frames just snapped in the center of the bridge when I put them on. They've never been stressed outside of putting them on and taking them off, never dropped, twisted, anything like that, so I don't see why they failed. Now it seems they're a discontinued model, so maybe there's something about 4057 that hasn't been publicized. I've been looking for a replacement pair to switch out my old lenses and keep for a backup since I had an eye exam and ordered some new Flexons (Marchon this time). I like the style and their being lightweight (less than half that of my old goggles), so hopefully a reasonably priced pair in someone's old stock will pop up.

I am now trying to buy my third 4057 frame which is a discontinued style from nike. All three simply broke in half during normal cleaning.

Nike Flexon glasses are garbage. I had the stems break off of one pair after they were adjusted at a eyeglass store and the finish is coming off of the middle of my current pair, as well as the pair that this one is replacing.

If you want good quality glasses...look to another name.

same thing happened to me. I liked the idea of these at the store since I am an active person and take a lot of hits to the glasses and thought that these would be perfect. Just tonight I was simply cleaning the lenses and SNAP, they broke right in the bridge like everybody else. Good while they lasted, but didn't last long enough.

I have to agree with everyone else here. Same issue - bridge snapped in half. I even tried to get Nike to replace them b/c mine broke before 1 year of regular (non abusive) use but I got the run-around from both vendor and Marchon. Obviously a serious design or materials flaw in the bridge b/c the frames are otherwise awesome. Shame on Nike/Marchon b/c this is an obvious common complaint and the optical lenses themselves cost approx $100-$150. No wonder they DC'd them... I will not by Nike frames ever again. Marchon did not hold up to the standards of the Nike brand name!

Same here. My first pair of Flexon snapped right in the middle - which were replaced with the identicle pair under warranty (I think it is model 9062 or similar)...and now, 2.5 years later the same thing happened again. The glasses are awsome (perfect style - very comforitable, bendable (takes abuse), lite weight, etc...) but two complaints - they break randomly by snapping in the middle and the finish comes off easily, very easily (which makes the glasses look pretty bad).
I don't know what to do...I do love these glasses but don't want something where the finish will wear off so easily - and the snapping kind of stinks too.

If anyone knows of a equal to this pair of glasses that does not have these flaws please let me know. thanks! Garret

I bought these glasses for my son in July, 2008. Within a few months, the bridge snapped in half. I went back to the retail store that we bought them from and they replaced the frame under their warranty. Now, the bridge on the new pair just snapped in half again and the store refuses to replace them, even though we are still under the 1 year warranty. Total garbage and waste of money. Invest your money wisely and don't buy this junk. It's a total consumer ripoff and should be reported.

I also had the dreaded "snap" when reaching into my shirt pocket to pull out my Nike #4067. Flexon??? Bridge snapped in half. No longer in stk. Only used for "good/dress up" situations for less than 1.5 years. Lenses are like new - but what will they fit in??
