The lenses have increased mid-peripheral thickness to create good handling across the power range. To make certain of good on-eye lens centration, the rear surface is lathe cut. Optima 38 / SP lenses are made with a light visible tint to help you locate your lenses in the solution.
Lens Material
The lens material (polymacon), is a hydrophilic polymer of 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate, and is 38.6% water by weight when immersed in saline solution. These lenses are hemispherical flexible shells.
